Edit - Tuesday, April 28, 2009: I decided to revisit this and redo it a little. Touched up pixel problems with the blood, and darkened it up a touch so it wasn't such a bright red.

Edit - Saturday, March 28, 2009: I'm sorry if you don't like blood. You certainly don't have to look. I did not force it on you, I put a warning on every one of my deviations with any kind of violence, blood, or ideologically sensitive material. You can't fault me for doing MY job. Please do yours and look somewhere ELSE before considering your trite comments that would be more useful elsewhere. We would both appreciate it.

I had to think of a way to portray some kind of violence and couldn't think of anything else.

I've pieced together the last four pictures from this set, taken to measure lighting, fresh blood look, and close up with this particular shade of fake blood, and to also see how it would look on the teeth. And if it would stain them, and it does. But just a little.

First off the title is spot on. I love the song and I love this picture.

I don't know if this is what you were going for, but to me it feels this piece is talking about how something foreign can affect your body, i can almost see the picture working with or without the peircing as if she was trying to take apart her lip because it felt alien, and the song choice just amplifies that.

The blood while not my thing has its place after all if she's trying to dig it out it's needed there for a reason. So all in all I think you get the message across

Great Dark Art is rare here On dA, and I'm glad to have had the chance to look at this and not as a DD even though it already is, because i think if i had seen it in the DD stack i wouldn't of taken the same contemplative look at it

when i look at this picture, i feel as though i can feel the tug on my lip, even though i dont have a labret piercing. it feels cold like ice. there's just the right amount of blood to show anguish and pain. usually teeth and blood are intended to show the horrors that are made up in out mind about dentistry, but this creates a whole new fear in piercings. the black border on the photo really makes the portrait stand out. but the tool makes the picture complete. excellent precision and focus. i can't think of any negative critiquing that i could give. an overall fantastic taste of gore.
